We were commissioned to design an 18th Century style Country House in “Capability” Brown’s historic listed landscape for private clients. The original mansion had been demolished between the wars.

The design had to faithfully follow the historic detailing of the Palladian design of the original house, while at the same time would need to be provided with the latest technology and facilities. The construction of the house was also to be carried out with traditional materials using traditional technology to ensure total authenticity.

The clients, whose family had owned the site since the middle ages were deeply involved in every aspect of the design, which made for a very exciting and productive collaboration.
